Meet our staff!


Dave You are likely to find Dave doing anything in the shop! Dave can repair, restore or customize any string instrument you bring into the shop. Along with his finely tuned luthier skills, Dave is also an incredible fiddle player, and you can find him playing a variety of styles of music at events around the southeastern region of the United States. Andy Wilmoth We have had a number of students interested in exploring percussion, and Andy is our newest drum and percussion teacher. Andy has been playing drums for 16 years, he has taught marching band, African drum and dance, band camp, and percussion ensemble. When asked what his favorite drumming style is, he said all of it! He loves to create and make the rhythm his own. Andy is able to teach hand drumming, mallet percussion, snare or full drum set. teacher
Anne Landis Jetton Anne Landis teaches violin and fiddling, adults only. She also performs with the Trevecca Community Orchestra on a regular basis. Anne Landis
Bronwyn Davies-Mason Bronwyn graduated with a music degree from Bennington University in Vermont. She was 7 years old when she began to play the recorder and began to play the violin at age 9. Her favorite style of music to play is the Irish Fiddle and Gypsy Jazz. When she isn't teaching violin and fiddling, with ages 4 and up, she is busy writing songs, performing, painting and reading. Buffy Woessner Buffy has a Commercial Music Performance degree from Belmont University, where she studies Jazz, Rock and many other styles of music. She began to play the piano at age 3, and cello at age 12. When asked why she wanted to play the cello she said with encouragement from her Mother she absolutely fell in love with the instrument. When Buffy isn't listening to Classical composers such as Bach, Beethoven or Chopin, she loves to play with her dog Elvis, a 4 lb Chihuahua. She also enjoys knitting, reading and spending time with her husband. Buffy teaches cello and keyboard at the shop to all ages and levels of students. Buffy
Cristi Burkeen Cristi teaches all levels of viola, and also violin. She plays many different styles of music, and works a little in the shop. Come see her for any questions you have about the viola. Cristi
Daniel Hyberger Daniel is our bass specialist. He teaches all styles and skill levels on upright and electric bass as well as guitar. In addition to teaching, and being awesome, he frequently works around the shop. Come see him if you have any questions about basses or anything else in the shop. Daniel
Grace McCaw Grace is one of our violin instructors here at Nashville Violins. We are excited to bring her onto our staff, she is Suzuki trained and currently taking students. Grace has been playing for 12 years, her favorite playing style is classical, she also plays jazz and does some fiddling. She is a very skilled and talented young lady who also plays the guitar and ukulele. When asked how often she practices, she said she practices every single day on her violin. We are proud to have her part of the Nashville Violins family. teacher
Haley Dries Ms. Dreis graduated Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina in violin performance. She is classically trained, but she teaches a wide variety of styles of music including fiddling and Celtic. Ms. Dries began to play the piano at age 5 and violin at age 6. She plays quite a few instruments which include guitar and ukulele. When she was asked, "what do you do when you are not playing music", she replied that she volunteers at no kill shelters as she has a passion for animals. She is currently taking students in the morning and into the afternoon. teacher
James Wood James received his degree in Cello Performance Classical from Belmont University. Mr. Wood began to play the cello at age 5, he later would pick up the guitar and write his own songs. Mr. Wood teaches cello and also guitar, ages 5 and up. He is well-versed in a variety of styles. James has a knack to bring out the passion of music in his students. He has an incredibly calm demeanor and with his versatile interest in music he is able to address the various musical interest in students. Along with playing out, James spends a good deal of his time in the studio, writing music or on rope. James
Jessica Harne Jessica comes to us from the Chicago School of Violin Making. She has a background in the violin and a degree in Arts and Classics from the University of North Carolina. She is quite an asset and you can find her to help you with any questions you may have on rentals or sales in our retail shop. You may also find her working on repairs in the workshop. Ms. Harne is currently working on building violins while she repairs and restores the various instruments here at the shop. Jessica
Leandria Lott Leandria is currently attending Tennessee State University where she is studying Commercial Music Performance. Her dream is to play for Broadway plays in New York. She began to play the violin at age 3, and she can play viola, piano and guitar. She teaches violin, viola, fiddle, guitar, and piano. Leadria enjoys playing Classical and Pop music, she loves to listen to the Beatles. When she isn't playing music she keeps herself busy by swimming or shopping at thrift stores. Leandria
Sara Beal Sara is our sheet music and viola specialist. Ms. Beal began to play the violin at age 3, and started to play the viola in the 6th grade. Her passion for music took her to college where she got her Masters degree at the University of Illinois in Champaign. Her favorite style of music to play is Classical and she studied under the Assistant Principal from the Chicago Symphony. Feel free to ask her any questions you may have about string instruments. She is savvy with our books and sheet music and she can help you find the obscure arrangement you haven't been able to locate. She will also assist with the instrument you are seeking to play it on! Sara Garing Sara can be found working in the repair shop and helping customers on both sides of the counter. She enjoys playing Irish fiddle, and also plays and repairs bassoons. Sara
Quantez Coger Quantez has been apprenticing at Nashville Violins since 2009. Besides working in the shop as his school schedule allows, Quantez plays upright bass, violin, viola, cello, and he is currently learning to play the guitar. Quantez is very talented for such a young age, you can find him performing upright bass with the Blair Youth Orchestra. Quantez
Rascal Rascal can be found greeting customers and keeping Dave on track throughout the day. He may not play an instrument, but he loves his dog treats and enjoys attention. Come by and see if Rascal the Nashville Violins Mascot is in today. Rascal
